CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prachanda has registered his candidacy for prime ministerial election.

The election will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the parliament.

Prachanda's name was proposed by Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba and endorsed by Maoist Centre leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara.

Likewise Prachanda has been supported by agitating Madhesi Morcha.Sanghiya Samajbadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadab, Sadbhawana party leader Laxman Lal Karna and Terai Madhesh Loktantrik party leader Sarbendra Nath Sukla have supported and decided to vote Prachanda.

The Morcha decided to support Congress-Maoist coalition following 3 points agreement listed below:

1.To implement the preconditions set by Federal alliance including declaring martyrs to those killed during Madhesh Protest, and provide relief and compensation to the injured.
2.To find political consensus based on 11-point demands of Madhesi Morcha and 26-point demands of Sanghiya Gathabandan and put forward a constitution amendment proposal in the parliament.
3.To support and vote Prachanda in the Prime Ministerial election

Prachanda has been the only one candidate of the PM's election as no other parties filed their candiday within the stipulated time period. CPN UML decided not to register their candidate at the last hour however it decided to vote against Prachanda.

Prachanda needs 298 votes to be elected as prime minister out of the  595 total votes in the parliament. Most Probably Prachanda with support of the largest party Nepali Congress, Madhesi Morcha and several small parties will have a comfortable win.
