kukur tihar or dog's day in Nepal
Kukur  Tihar is observed all over Nepal on Saturday as the second day of the Yamapanchak which is the second biggest festival of Hindus in Nepal.

On Kukur Tihar dogs are cleaned and worshiped with colors and Tika and offered garlands of marigold and other flowers and fed sweets and delicious foods.

Dogs which are obedient, loyal and honest friends of human are respected and used for detecting criminals all over the world .

In recent Nepal, keeping dogs as pets have been very popular. One can see many celebrities and general public keeping dogs.

These days there are many Kennel clubs for dogs breeding , training, selling, training, stores selling dog's foods, medicine and vaccines are found elsewhere around the city.

According to Hindu myth, Dogs recognized his human lord at the gate of entrance of death world and saved him, so he was later worshiped every year at Tihar.

Tihar begins from the day of Kag Tihar (Crow's day) followed by Kukur Tihar, Gai Tihar/Laxmi Pooja, Goru Tihar and concludes with Bhai Tika (brothers and sisters day).
