25 September, 2016: Former home minister Madhaw Prasad's car has gone missing after it plunged into Trishuli river.Ghimire's own brothers Mohan Ghimire and Prakash Ghimire are also missing.
The car with number plate Ba. 9 Cha. 1531 in which Ghimire was traveling from Chitwan to Kathmandu has fallen into the Trishuli river ar around 4 pm on Sunday.Three passengers including minister Ghimire are missing.
According to Chitwan Police Chief Bashant Kunwar, 4 passengers have been rescued among the 7 passengers that car including a woman.
An elderly woman Chaitanya Kumari is supposed to be Ghimire's mother. Other who have been rescued included driver Bishnu Rai, Constable of Armed Force Police, RC Karki and Narayan Prasad Kafle.Two have been in serious condition.
Police have informed that 3 are missing as reported by the driver Bishnu Rai.
Ghimire and the family were returning back from Muktinath visit.
Ghimire served as home minister of Nepal during Khil Raj Regmi's reign.
